Indigenizing the Curriculum
I am located within the traditional territory of the Secwepemc people, and I acknowledge that I am a visitor to the unceded land and give honor to the Secwepemc. I give my gratitude to the people, the land, animals, plants, water, air and all things needed for life on Mother Earth. It is my obligation to educate students by learning the local culture and teaching to the truths, for reconciliation.
I completed a professional development series on Aboriginal Education ( School Leader Sessions). These are some of my favourite examples of lessons and activities that the sessions highlighted that I would like to use in teaching and learning of my students.
